Eddie Vedder’s "Ukulele Songs"

Vedder of long standing "grunge" band Pearl Jam has just released his solo album Ukulele Songs, and yes it does exactly what it says on the can. 16 tracks powered up by the uku and ofcourse a cello, must not forget the cello.
Vedder has managed to create an album that actually works. I was rather pessimistic when I heard the news however after hearing it I am pleasantly surprised. Weaving his baritone voice with the simplicity of our four stringed friend makes for, in all an album that is reminiscent of summer evenings.
I dont believe this album is for everyone not even all hardcore Pearl Jam / Vedder fans but more for those 'indi loving',  'folky' listeners out there.

Vedder will be on he road in June and then be celebrating Pearl Jam's 20th birthday in style, perform a concert in Wisconsin and I am sure be promoting the documentry by Cameron Crowe, (which will be out in the fall) all this makes Vedder a very busy man.
