Habille moi si tu aimes !

Hey guys I have great news !

For those who don't know it yet (ah ah !) MARKS & SPENCER is coming back to France and is opening a big store on the Champs Elysées this week (opening this thursday).

The french website is already live since a few weeks, so feel free to discover lots of unexpected fashion and furniture here : http://www.marksandspencer.fr/

To promote the event, M&S is launching a great campaign through Facebook today and you'll be able to win the clothes you like ! Isn't that awesome ?!

They have created a fantastic style challenge called HABILLE-MOI SI TU AIMES.

Hosted on M&S’s Facebook page, it’s a viral game that invites you to ‘like’ M&S in order to discover and win the hottest items from it’s latest Collection.
You must share your favourite item on Facebook and encourage 21 of your friends to click on it in order to win the chosen item.

It’s as simple as ‘Choose it. Share it. Win it.’ But it’s a race to win the items before they all go !

The game goes live this afternoon. You just have to follow this link : http://www.facebook.com/marksandspencerfrance

Careful : You need to ‘like’ M&S France AND HABILLE-MOI SI TU AIMES which you will find in the APP tab on the left hand side of the M&S Facebook page.

And don’t forget to tell all your friends about it of course !

See you on the Champs Elysées on thursday :-)
Viva banofee cakes, PG Tips & jams of all sorts !

Skype + Facebook

Skype has been powering Facebook’s video chat  since July, but its new apps for Windows and OS X now let you use the Skype client to directly make video calls to your Facebook friends.
The new interface is really simple. You just link your Skype and Facebook accounts, and your Skype friends list is automatically updated with all of your Facebook friends. You’ll also be able to share screens with your chat partners, which will come in handy when your mom demands you Skype with her because she forgot how to bookmark the new episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
This isn’t exactly offering anything you couldn’t have managed otherwise, but the continued intermingling of the two super widely-used platforms should make it a lot easier to connect for an awkward video chat.

An apple for Kristen

The trailer for Snow white and the huntsman is out.

Kristen Stewart ("Twilight") plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) who is out to kill her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, "Thor") who was  infact dispatched to kill her.  With a cast including Ian Mc Shane, Bob Hoskins and Eddie Marsan to name but a few we are rather looking forward to this summer  blockbuster fairy tale.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of "Alice in Wonderland," producer Sam Mercer ("The Sixth Sense") and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.

Rockabilly - Sallie Ford and The Sound Outside

Retro is back... Its everywhere, screen, shops and even on the high street. Were in Paris so that must mean something.

So here at D&d we are embracing Rockabilly with a Love that will be eternal.
So as its getting quite nippy out there Im happy to announce a real winter warmer on the platine.
Id like to introduce you to...... (drum roll on a old tin pleaseeeee...)
Sallie Ford and The Sound Outside all the way from Portland, Oregon playing since 2007. This four piece have their debut album on a major label Dirty Radio.

Generally classed as a rockabilly ensemble, although Sallie Ford describes it as "Rock n Roll" and that people find it "more rockin’ than they expected." However theres a bit of jazz, blues and punk thrown in for good measure.
Lead by the voice of Sallie Ford  ( that is like a time warp )and backed by the deep sound of a stand-up bass from Tyler Tornfelt, together with Jeffery Munger (guitar) and Ford Tennis (drums), collectively they bring rockabilly into the 21st century with a modern twist.

According to singer Seth Avett of The Avett Brothers, Ford's songs have that "rare quality of somehow combining fun with emotional and artistic integrity" and she "fills the room with it" and reminds him of the "energy of early rock 'n' roll." The group opened forThe Avett Brothers and recorded a five-song EP entitled Not an Animal. Ford's voice has been compared to Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Waits, Billie Holiday, with possible influences from Bessie Smith and used the words "two-step big beat gospel" to describe the effect.

The best thing is that we can all see them live soon

Bill Tornade- That real rock and roller with style and elegance.

This winter I will be wearing Bill Tornade. The budget is reasonable but if you cant afford this I know some of the high street stores are doing very similar looks.
